“Olympia is an incubator and exporter of DIY music culture, a place where musicians do big things on small budgets, recording themselves, passing the hat, touring from living room to living room, up and down the coast, sometimes sleeping on the same floor they had performed on. They do it for the love, but thanks to Bicycle Records, musicians are getting checks instead of spare change.
As do-it-yourself musicians, Bob Schwenkler and Ross Cowman fell in love with the Olympia music scene. They performed, toured, and hung out with hundreds of musicians from Olympia and around the world, seeing first-hand how musicians are an undervalued, yet vital, community-building force.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the email, I’d love to keep up with what you’re doing. I haven’t got around to your boards yet, I’m currently building the 2 I got from 3 nity before yours showed up. I have 1 built and am ready to start the power supply as soon as time allows, but I should have both channels finished by the first of the year. It’s been a great year for me, I have all the parts to mod some Nady 1150 tube clones I bought last year, 1 will get the Peluso CK12, his transformer for it, a 6072 tube from him and all top of the line caps and resistors. Another will get the cinemag replacement tranny, the same caps and resistors, a Telefunken NOS 12AU7 I have onhand (if it’s mic grade) and start it’s mod life with the original capsule until I decide on what to go with. The 3rd one gets the caps, resistors and one of many NOS and used tubes I have on hand. It may wind up with a Peluso 47 cap, and one of the tab 47 xformers down the road, the 2nd will be built to make a pair of which ever I like the best. I also have the EZ1290′s, 9K and Green Pre’s to build. I’m hot for the 1290′s because I have a pair of UAD’s and am purchasing the UAD Neve 88RS channel Strip for them this week.
I’m really jazzed to build an 8pak of your pre’s, I still have 4 cards on hand. Your cards are easily the most versatile if all the pre projects I’ve seen. I had the full bom for 3Nity’s cards, or I probably wouldn’t have built them. With the options your cards offer, and the multitude of compatible DOA’s out there now, your cards have huge potential. If you decide to stop producing these, drop me a note, and I’ll take the last 6 you have. I’m laid off at the moment, so the money is tight (as always lol). I have another past bandmate that’s getting into the home studio stuff I’d like to gift another pair of boards to.
I’m 58 in March, so I have just a few years left and the day gig fades away. Nearly all the gear is aquired or waiting to be built, and I have a nice selection of instruments I’ve bought over the last 40 plus years. I hope to open the doors as soon as the pension is done. Your boards are off the charts.
Thanks,
Mike
